APEGA and PEO Examinations
The APEGA and PEO technical examinations follow the syllabi outlined at Geology | APEGA. The syllabus provides a description of the course content for each subject. Please review the list of exams in the PDF below for the exam titles and corresponding codes.
Note: If a session has passed, the exam list is for reference only. An updated exam list will be posted once available.
The following details apply to the exams:
- Exams are typically offered twice a year, in the Spring and Fall.
- Exams are administered online through EGBC.
- Each exam is 3 hours and may be either open or closed book, depending on the examiner’s discretion.
- Information about the exam format and permitted aids will be confirmed at least one month before the examination date.
- Once registered, you may receive emails about the registration and booking process from both EGBC and APEGA.
PREPARATION FOR THE EXAM:
Preparation will involve self-directed study. Consult the syllabus description for your exam as a guide to the topics that will be covered. It is your responsibility to find textbooks, which can be purchased at university bookstores, retail bookstores, online bookstores, or obtained from public libraries. APEGA does not provide textbooks or information about where to find them.
