James Whyte, P. Geo., Senior Geologist, Corporate Finance, Ontario Securities Commission
James Whyte joined the OSC in 2008 and specializes in reviewing technical disclosure by issuers in the mining and petroleum sectors. He worked on the revision of NI 43-101 and on OSC Staff Notice 43-704 Mineral Brine Projects and the recent CSA Staff Notice 43-309 Review of Website Investor Presentations by Mining Issuers. Before joining the Commission, he was a staff writer in the Toronto bureau of The Northern Miner, and worked for consulting firms in mineral exploration, geotechnical, and environmental practice. James is a Fellow of the Geological Association of Canada and is a registered Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.
