About Robert Hearst, P.Geo

Robert has over 39 years in geophysical exploration for mineral, hydrocarbon, geothermal, ground water and environmental resources, bringing practical experience in all aspects of exploration and site characterization from survey planning, data acquisition, processing, inversion, to interpretation and reporting. His experience spans the globe, across multiple exploration environments, commodities and methodologies/techniques. Robert has worked on all sides of the exploration business, from contracting, start-ups, junior miners to major mining companies and as a consultant.

He is a registered P.Geo with PGO, APEGA, APEGS and NAPEG. He has served on PGO Council as a Councillor-at-large, Central Region Councillor, and most recently as Vice President. Robert has been a member of various PGO Committees including Complaints, Registration, and Symposium Planning. He is also a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) and of the PDAC Convention Planning Committee. He is also active in the geophysical community as a past president of the Canadian Exploration Geophysical Society (KEGS), member of the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), Australian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (ASEG), and the European Association of Exploration Geophysicists (EAEG).

Robert holds an honours B.Sc. in Geophysics and Geology from the University of Western Ontario and a M.Sc. in Geology and Geophysics from McMaster University. He has been a Guest Lecturer at Laurentian University in Exploration Geophysics (MERC5956) and an instructor in geophysics at Fleming College, School of Environmental & Natural Resource Sciences, Geological Technician program.
